This qualification is an entry-level qualification designed to meet the needs of learners who require end user computing as an essential skill in any business. It is designed to accommodate both learners in formal education and learners already employed. It aims to develop informed and skilled learners who can apply the acquired skills in any industry and should contribute towards improved productivity and efficiency in the workplace.

In order to get the full benefit of and complete this programme, you are required to:

  • Grade 10 (Std. 8), OR
  • Must have Further learning competency in End User Computing at NQF level 1, OR
  • Must have Further Education and Training certificate band up to NQF level 2 or the equivalent
  • Recognition of Prior Learning: for recognition of prior learning, you will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence of relevant experience, in a prescribed format, to be assessed for formal recognition.

The assumed learning can be acquired in the traditional way of formal study as well as in the workplace. Acquiring the competencies in a workplace (either via formal learnerships or on-the-job training) has the potential of addressing the problems of the past, where formal qualifications were only obtainable by way of formal study.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of municipal finance issues in general, and their areas of focus.
  • Apply economic principles to municipal finance management.
  • Assess foundations and principles of municipal practice in South Africa.
  • Implement well-grounded and systematically developed principles in municipal financial management.
  • Proffer solutions to municipal service management and delivery problems.
  • Engage with the broader field of municipal finance management.
  • Support as a strategic management leader in the field of municipal finance management.
  • Contribute to others’ understanding of current and emerging municipal finance issues.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and adaptability as a professional in a municipality setting
