Course Introduction

The Assessment Practitioner Skills Programme equips individuals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to assess learner competence in an occupational or workplace setting. The course covers planning for assessments, conducting assessments using appropriate tools and techniques, and recording the results accurately.

This Assessment Practitioner training is ideal for those involved in education, training and development who are responsible for assessing learners against unit standards, qualifications, or occupational requirements.

Course Duration

  • Classroom / contact time: 4–5 days. Prospen’s own page states 5 days consistently; one competitor source states 4. This narrow variance is minor and likely reflects slightly different scheduling between providers rather than an error — worth a quick internal confirmation, but not a significant concern.
  • Official total programme duration: 30 days programme including practical/workplace components and Portfolio of Evidence completion.

Entry Requirements

Competence in Communication at NQF Level 4 or equivalent. Typical learners are post-school graduates or those with workplace experience enabling them to observe learners in practice and judge competence.
