Course Introduction

SharePoint is where many organisations keep their documents, run their team sites, and build their intranets. It sits behind Microsoft Teams and OneDrive, and it is now also the content that Microsoft 365 Copilot searches. Used well, it gives teams one trusted place to find, share, and manage information. Used badly, it becomes a maze of duplicate files, open permissions, and sites that nobody owns.

This five-day course gives participants a thorough, practical understanding of SharePoint in Microsoft 365. Participants learn to create and manage sites, set up document libraries and lists, control access and sharing, organise information with metadata and content types, automate approvals and routine processes with Power Automate, connect SharePoint with Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Office, and make content easy to find through search and navigation. The course also covers the governance basics that keep a SharePoint environment secure and manageable, including retention and sensitivity labels, and it looks at how Copilot works with SharePoint content. Each day combines short explanations with hands-on practice in a live Microsoft 365 environment, and the week ends with a practical project.

The course is pitched at intermediate (power user and site owner) level. No previous SharePoint experience is required, but participants should be comfortable with Windows, a web browser, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and should have used Microsoft 365 before. Individual and batch class formats are available.
