This Advanced Emergency First Aid Responder programme provides advanced training in emergency first aid, benefiting occupational health and safety, society, and the South African economy. Learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality emergency care, improving patient outcomes, reducing illness and injury rates, and strengthening overall healthcare services. By training personnel across multiple industries, the programme enhances workplace safety, reduces the risk of accidents, and helps lower occupational claims and medical costs.
The Advanced Emergency First Aid Responder programme prepares employees to function as risk-based first aid providers, capable of coordinating an emergency scene and delivering advanced care in critical or life-threatening situations — the top tier of the QCTO first aid pathway, building on Basic and Intermediate Emergency First Aid.

The Certificate of Competence issued for this programme is valid for 3 years from the date of award, after which renewal training is required to maintain current certification.
