This skills programme is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge, awareness, and practical skills required to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements within the workplace. The programme provides learners with an understanding of the legal framework governing workplace health and safety, including the rights, responsibilities, and obligations of both employees and employers in maintaining a safe working environment.
The Essential Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Compliance Ensurer NQF programme focuses on developing employees’ ability to recognise workplace hazards, understand potential legal liabilities arising from unsafe acts or omissions, and apply safe working practices that reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, illnesses, and non-compliance. Learners will gain an understanding of incident and hazard reporting procedures, the importance of following workplace safety rules, and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Upon successful completion of the Essential Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Compliance Ensurer NQF programme, learners will be able to contribute to a safer workplace by complying with OHS legislation, identifying and reporting hazards and incidents, supporting workplace safety initiatives, and understanding how their actions can impact both personal and organisational legal liability.
