Course Introduction

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® is the Project Management Institute (PMI)® entry-level certification. It suits people who are new to project management, and people who want to take on more responsibility or add project management skills to their current role.

This four-day course prepares participants for the CAPM® exam. It follows the four domains of the PMI CAPM® Exam Content Outline: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts, Predictive (Plan-Based) Methodologies, Agile Frameworks and Methodologies, and Business Analysis Frameworks. Interactive lessons, real-world case studies, daily quizzes, and practice exam questions build both the knowledge and the exam technique that participants need. Attendance also provides the 23 hours of formal project management education that PMI requires before a candidate can sit the exam.

The course price includes study material developed by PMI. It does not include the PMI membership or the CAPM® exam fee.

Course Objectives

By the end of this CAPM® Training Program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the basic concepts, terminology, and processes of project management, and the context in which projects operate
  • Describe project life cycles and process groups, and the roles and responsibilities on a project
  • Decide when a predictive (plan-based), an agile, or a hybrid approach is appropriate, and compare their controls
  • Describe the planning, scheduling, cost, quality, resource, communication, risk, and procurement processes of a plan-based project
  • Explain agile values and frameworks, including Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and how iterations are planned and managed
