Course Introduction

This HR Metrics and Data Analytics Training Course addresses critical challenges faced by HR professionals, such as real-time HR analytics, predicting employee turnover, and optimising recruitment decisions. Participants will learn to leverage essential HR metrics and analytical techniques to enhance organisational performance and strategic HR management.

The course guides attendees through a structured process of using key HR metrics and data analytics tools to analyse, interpret, and predict various workforce dynamics. Emphasis is placed on developing data-driven insights to manage recruitment, employee engagement, productivity, retention, and performance effectively.

Participants will explore the primary types of HR analytics — descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive — to transform their HR processes from intuition-driven to evidence-based decision-making.

Course Duration Options

This HR Metrics and Data Analytics is available in two formats, so you can choose the depth that fits your time and needs:

3-Day Essentials Core Foundations

Core HR metrics, data sources, practical application to recruitment and workforce planning, and foundational tool skills.

Ideal for: those who need practical, immediate analytics capability without an extended time commitment.

Course Objectives

By the end of this HR Metrics and Data Analytics Training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of data analytics in the context of HR departmental operations
  • Apply the four types of HR analytics — descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive
  • Identify and calculate the key metrics that matter most to HR strategy and human capital decisions
  • Align organisational change initiatives with evidence drawn from HR data
  • Use practical statistical techniques to test HR decisions with real confidence, not just intuition
  • Apply metrics to recruitment, workforce planning, learning and development, and performance
  • Build organisational buy-in and capability for an analytics-driven HR function
  • Set benchmarks and use data to attract and retain competent talent from the market

Course Benefits

  • A Practical Statistics Foundation, Not an Intimidating One: Learn hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression through real HR decisions — hiring, training, pay — not abstract theory.
  • Lower Setup Friction: Work primarily through browser-based and cloud tools, reducing the IT approval burden on your team before the course even starts.
  • Practical, Applied Learning: Every module closes with a hands-on exercise, so concepts are practised, not just presented.
  • A Tight HR Focus: Every module speaks directly to HR decisions — recruitment, retention, performance, workforce planning — without drifting into unrelated business analytics.
  • Built for Where You Actually Are: Designed for HR officers and managers first, with the analytical depth to also serve data and people analytics specialists.

Delegate Requirements

To reduce IT setup friction ahead of the course, tool requirements have been simplified:

  • Please bring a laptop with at least 8GB RAM and sufficient storage.
  • Power BI is used via the browser-based Power BI Service where possible — no local desktop install or special IT permission required for most exercises.
  • Where a local install is genuinely needed for a specific exercise, this will be confirmed in the pre-course communication at least two weeks in advance, giving delegates time to secure IT approval.
  • If you need to hire a laptop, contact us for a quotation.
